Upon your arrival in Guilin, a dedicated private vehicle will be waiting to transfer you smoothly to your hotel, ensuring a seamless start to your journey. As evening falls, you may choose to unwind and conserve energy, or—if feeling invigorated—embark on a gentle guided exploration along the serene banks of the Li River, where mist-shrouded karst peaks mirror in the waters, or wander through the vibrant, lamp-lit alleys of West Street, a melting pot of cultures blending local traditions with global influences. Your guide will be by your side, offering insights and ensuring every step is filled with discovery.
For a truly immersive and tranquil experience, opt to bypass the bustling large-scale cruise ships and instead embark on a serene journey along the lesser-traveled stretches of the Li River, such as the picturesque Yangdi to Xingping section. Accompanied by a seasoned local boatman, you’ll glide gently over crystal-clear waters framed by towering karst peaks, their reflections painting a living masterpiece. Days 4-5
Spring City Flower Sea and Plateau Lakes
In the morning, catch a flight from Guilin to Kunming and arrive in the "Spring City" with ease. By afternoon, stroll leisurely along Dianchi Lake, where flocks of wintering black-headed gulls dance overhead (seasonal), then ride a cable car up Xishan Mountain for a panoramic view of this alpine jewel shimmering below.
Morning brings an awe-inspiring journey into the surreal stone forests of Kunming’s UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, where towering limestone pillars rise like ancient sentinels, shaped by millions of years of wind and water. Wander through labyrinthine pathways, marveling at formations named "Sword Peak" and "Phoenix Comb," while local guides share legends of how these jagged wonders were carved by celestial dragons.Afternoon unfolds with a hands-on culinary adventure tailored for families: a Wild Mushroom Foraging Workshop led by a master chef. Venture into a lush forest patch (or a simulated natural setting) to learn identifying traits of Yunnan’s prized edible fungi, from delicate morels to earthy porcini, under expert supervision.
Days 6-9
Tropical Rainforest and Dai Culture
Fly from Kunming to Xishuangbanna in the morning. In the afternoon, visit the Zongfo Temple to experience the solemnity of Theravada Buddhism, and then relax in the hotel and enjoy the tropical swimming pool.
Exclusive Family Experience: Wild Elephant Valley "Elephant Dad" Experience. As the 'One Day Elephant Dad', under the guidance of the reserve staff, I participated in taking care of Asian elephants and learning conservation knowledge. This is a vivid natural conservation lesson. In the afternoon, hike in the tropical rainforest park and get to know the unique flora and fauna.
Watch traditional performances featuring graceful Peacock Dance and rhythmic drumming, while locals in colorful attire invite you to join their lively water fights under the sun. Afternoon offers an exclusive family experience: a private evening in an authentic Dai village. Stroll through bamboo-framed homes adorned with intricate carvings, then gather around a communal table for a feast of fragrant sticky rice, lemongrass-grilled fish, and spicy bamboo shoots prepared by village elders. As dusk falls, the village hosts a sacred "Blessing of Waters" ceremony. Families link hands with villagers, splashing fragrant water infused with fresh flowers to wash away misfortune and share wishes of health. Laughter and traditional songs echo beneath starlit skies, creating a heartfelt connection to Yunnan’s enduring heritage.
