Tianya Haijiao

Backed by Maling Mountain and facing the vast sea, the scenic area covers a total area of 16.4 square kilometers, integrating seaside scenery and profound history and culture. It was once regarded as the southernmost point of China, and was officially named Tianya Haijiao after the Qing Dynasty essayist Cheng Zhe inscribed "Tianya" and the Republic of China anti-Japanese war hero Wang Yi inscribed "Haijiao".

1. History

Because this place is located at the junction of distant land and sea, it is in line with the ancients' cognition of Tianya, and the territory of the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties marked the Xiamaling of Tianya Town in Sanya as the southernmost pole of China's land. In the 53rd year of the Kangxi Dynasty of the Qing Dynasty, Miao Shou, Qiuerdai and Tang Shangxian were sent to draw the "Panorama of the Imperial Opinion", and inscribed "Sea Judgment Nantian" on the seaside boulder in the scenic area, which is the first cliff inscription in the scenic area. In the eleventh year of Yongzheng, Cheng Zhe, the governor of Yazhou, carved "Tianya" on the boulder, and Wang Yi carved "Haijiao" on the adjacent boulder during the Republic of China, and the name of "Tianya Haijiao" gradually spread.

2. Attractions

• Cliff stone carvings: the most well-known, there are "Tianya Shi", "Haijiao Shi", "Haipan Nantian", "Nantian Yizhu" and so on.

• Love Square: The square has the statue of Lu Bode, the general of Fubo in the Han Dynasty, Ma Yuan and the statue of the Vermilion Bird Divine Beast guarding the South China Sea. In the center, the end of the earth is surrounded by stone carvings that symbolize eternal love vows.

• Historical Sculpture Celebrity Garden: There are sculptures such as masters of Jianzhen to show history and culture.
