Lushan

Lushan is a world cultural heritage and a global geopark. Lushan Mountain is northeast-southwest trending, the main peak Dahanyang Peak is 1474 meters above sea level, with an area of 280 square kilometers.

1. History

According to legend, during the Zhou Dynasty, the seven brothers of the Kuang family went up the mountain to cultivate the road and married the house, which was named Lushan. Since the Eastern Jin Dynasty, it has become a place for monks and celebrities to live and cultivate the truth. Li Bai, Bai Juyi and other literati and writers left many poems here, making it a famous cultural mountain. During the Republic of China, Lushan became the "summer capital" of the Nanjing National Government. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Lushan Mountain was vigorously developed and protected, and was approved as the first batch of national key scenic spots in 1982, included in the World Heritage List in 1996, and selected as the first batch of global geoparks in 2004.

2. Attractions

• Jinxiu Valley: The valley is deep and dense, the strange stone cliff, the flowers bloom like splendor, and the clouds and mist of Lushan can be enjoyed when the temperature plummets.

• Sandie Spring: Each stack has its own characteristics, "the upper level is like drifting snow and dragging, the intermediate level is like broken jade destroying ice, and the lower level is like a jade dragon walking in the pool", which is very spectacular.

• Meilu: Once the villa of Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Meiling, it shows a side of China's modern history.

• Ruqin Lake: Named because it resembles a violin, the lake and mountains are reflected in the meantime, and the scenery is excellent.

3. Excursion routes

• Day 1: Ruqin Lake - Jinxiu Valley- Xiaotianchi.

• Day 2: Lushan Botanical Garden - Sandie Spring - Meilu - Lushan Conference Site.

4. Best time to see

Suitable for all seasons. In spring (March to May), flowers bloom and everything recovers; Summer (June-August) is cool and pleasant, making it a summer resort; In autumn (September to November), the maple leaves turn red, and the forest is dyed; In winter (December to February), you can enjoy the wonders of snow and rime.

5. Traffic

It is about 36 kilometers away from the center of Jiujiang; It is about 50 kilometers away from Jiujiang Lushan Airport.

6. Tickets and fees

• Ticket price: 160 yuan/person in peak season, 135 yuan/person in low season.

• Other fees: sightseeing ticket 90 yuan/person (valid for 7 days); Sandiquan cable car round trip 80 yuan/person.

7. Tips

There is a luggage storage office in Guling Town where visitors can store their luggage while they play.
