Introduction to Scenic Spots

Yunshuiyuan, originally named Changjiao, changed its name due to the movie "Yunshuiyuan". Here, a hundred year old banyan tree covers the sky and sun along the riverbank, with 13 earthen buildings nestled by the mountains and water, and stone paved roads linking together a thousand year old smoke and fire. Watching the water wheel turn through a hundred years of vicissitudes and listening to Hakka folk songs sung by streams are the most poetic habitats in southern Fujian.

Historical origin

During the Tang and Song dynasties, it was a post station on ancient roads. At the end of the Yuan dynasty, Hakka people built earthen buildings to live together, forming a pattern of "villages within buildings and buildings within villages". After the filming of the 2005 movie went viral, the Gu Rong group, Da Shui Lu group, and Tu Lou group became the "Internet celebrity three piece set".

Scenic Spots

Hegui Building: The "Noah's Ark" built on a swamp, with a mortise and tenon structure that is skewed and cannot collapse.

Huaiyuan Tower: A double ring circular earthen tower with carved couplets that conceal the wisdom of farming, reading, and family transmission.

Dashuiche: The same filming location as the movie, under the ancient banyan tree by the stream, has a 100% production rate.

Tourist Route

Tourist Center → Big Water Cart (10 minutes) → Stroll along the creek to Hegui Tower (20 minutes) → Huaiyuan Tower (15 minutes) → Return via Ancient Stage → 2 hours in total, wearing comfortable shoes!

best season

Best of Spring and Autumn: Rapeseed flowers from March to May+golden rice fields from October to November. Avoiding the typhoon season and rainy season from July to September, the stream water will become turbid.

Transportation Guide

High speed rail: Take a taxi from Nanjing Station for 50 minutes (about 80 yuan), carpooling is more cost-effective.

Self driving: Navigation to "Yunshuiyao Scenic Area", 2 hours from Xiamen and 3.5 hours from Fuzhou.

Airport: It takes about 2.5 hours from Xiamen Gaoqi Airport to the scenic area (recommended to rent a car).

Ticket cost

Scenic spot ticket: 90 yuan (including Hegui Building, Huaiyuan Building, and Yunshuiyuan Core Area).

Paid experience: Tulou night tour guide costs 50 yuan/person, fish therapy experience costs 30 yuan/hour.

Opening hours: Open all day (visitors can enter the interior of the Tulou from 8:30 to 17:30).
