Historical origin
The name of Wuyi Mountain began in the Han Dynasty. During the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, ancient Yue people lived there, leaving the mystery of hanging coffins. The Tang Dynasty Fengshan Grand Ceremony established its status as a famous Taoist mountain, and during the Song Dynasty, Zhu Xi gave lectures and founded Neo Confucianism. The Tea Horse Ancient Road also made it the starting point of the Ten Thousand Mile Tea Road. Throughout history, literati such as Fan Zhongyan and Lu You have left over a thousand poems and writings, and cliff carvings are scattered throughout the mountains and waters.

Spring and Autumn (March May/September November): The temperature is suitable, and the clouds and mist are like a fairyland.

Transportation Guide
High speed railway: take No. 7 bus (40 minutes/10 yuan) or taxi (about 30 yuan) to Mount Wuyi North Station.
Airport: Mount Wuyi Airport → Scenic Area (about 50 yuan/30 minutes by taxi).
Self driving: 3 hours from Fuzhou, 4 hours from Nanchang, navigate the "South Entrance of Mount Wuyi Scenic Area".

Travel Tips
Bring sunscreen clothes and hats, mosquito repellent, taste Langgu smoked goose and Zixi powder, and visit the starting point of Meiwanli Tea Road. After rain, the probability of climbing a mountain in a sea of clouds is high, and in the morning, you will meet a tea picker while hiking.
