The history of Yongqing Fang can be traced back to the first year of Baoyou in the Southern Song Dynasty (1253), when it was called "Yongqing Fang" and was one of the commercial centers of Guangzhou city. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Yongqing Fang gradually became one of the most well preserved traditional commercial streets in Guangzhou. In 2015, the local government carried out a phased "micro renovation" of the Yongqingfang plot in accordance with the principle of "restoring the old as it is". Today, it has become a cultural new landmark for the micro renovation of Guangzhou's old city.
